Some drawing tips:
- make sure you are physically fit and mentally at a state of rest when you decide to draw.
- if you are trying very hard, you are probably getting the image wrong
- when drawing remember less is more; get the forms right first, the shading will follow
- do the eyes early in the drawing; if you get these right the rest of the work is easy
- consider drawing using a pen when practising so you can record and learn your mistakes. If necessary circle imperfections with a red pen.
- keep all your drawings - or at least a digital copy.
- do not copy other drawings - copies are soulless. Look at the work of others to see if you can learn something.
